The Last Election of 2012

You may have thought election season was over, but I’d be remiss if I let 2012 slip into memory without mentioning one more electoral occurrence.

On New Year’s Eve, Bangor’s Downtown Countdown celebration held a contest and Facebook vote to find Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bunyan for the year.

Although I don’t see an official announcement anywhere, it seems that the winner of the online vote and official selection was Democratic State Representative Adam Goode, a victory I can only assume was predicated on his love of flannel and facial hair.

Goode also won the 5k road race held earlier that day.
